My good friends, Michael Hyatt and Chris Brogan have both done posts recently sharing which bags they use when travelling. I travel a lot so I thought there might be someone out there who would find it helpful if I shared which laptop bag I carry and how I pack it. I’ve tried several really nice bags over the years and I’ve settled on the Slim Saddleback Leather (client) briefcase. I absolutely love it for several reasons I discuss in the video.
Enjoy!

Interesting that you never mentioned the smell of the leather. That in itself would sell me on the bag. Well done!
I was going to ask you about the price, but I just visited their website. $400+, but you just have to love 100yr guarantee. Funny…I still have the 6 piece set of Pierre Cardin fabric travel bags that I bought in 1983 for $99. American Express had a special!
@maury You are absolutely right.  Its Saddlebacks best feature!
Youre right. ¬†Theyre not cheap…but theyre worth every penny. ¬†Like Dave Munson says, Theyll fight over it when youre dead!
I know what you mean. There really is nothing like soft wonderful leather. I still have my first leather briefcase, given to me in 1979 when I was made an AVP for a very large bank.
Leather takes on a life of its own, supple, your blood, sweat and tears!
One question: before you switched to an iPad, did it easily hold your laptop?
@judy, yes, in fact in addition to my iPad Ill occasionally have my MacBook in the bag as well.  It fits fine.
I watched Hyatt’s video a couple of weeks ago, still trying to land on a bag!
Scott, I love the Saddleback bag.  James Bond would carry Mikes bag.  Indiana Jones would carry mine.

I came back by this evening to see how this story is unfolding. When you mentioned Indiana Jones I thought of a post I wrote last summer about my son. You have to read all to way through to see the connection.

I’d love that bag too if I didn’t have to pay for it. 😉 Can you hook a brother up!?!
May I ask which size of briefcase you purchased — medium (15″ x 11 ¬Ω‚Äù x 4 ¬º‚Äù) or large (17″ x 12 ¬Ω‚Äù x 4 ¬º‚Äù)? Thank you,
Hey Rob,
Its the medium. Thanks for reading!
